Objective 3:

Use technologies and techniques to design and develop learning materials, media, and environments.

For this objective, I selected artifacts showing how I used learning theories relevant to specific learner groups - here, junior staff in a remote workplace learning how to facilitate virtual and in-person committee review meetings.

Facilitation Skills Training

To design this training module, I followed the ADDIE process:

  • I confirmed a business need for a training-based solution through learner interviews;

  • I designed a training course using theories of andragogy and constructivism to select activities that responded to learner motivations;

  • I developed content explicitly customized for the company’s client needs and established processes;

  • I organized and facilitated a brief training and roleplay scenario with actual participants;

  • I proposed evaluation processes to supervisors and managers.

Survey results from actual learners.

This artifact shows I have designed learning objectives that are matched to key knowledge, skills, and abilities, based on both quantitative and qualitative data from learner and client needs.

My training proposal documents how I used the ADDIE process to ensure the final product met business needs and provided evidence of its own effectiveness. The plan to determine evidence of behavioral change was also based on stakeholder surveys and observational data - the overall goal of the project was tuned to meet customer satisfaction goals.
