Knowledge workers in remote and/or hybrid workplaces face unique opportunities with increased autonomy and flexibility in comparison to in-person work environments, but they also have fewer opportunities for effective communication with their peers and managers. Self-regulated learning strategies can help workers set goals and regulate their skill development, but a supportive and trusting work environment is a necessary precondition for these skills to be successful.
